As such, do not craft four copies of The Book of Exalted Deeds in an effort to get them for free, because they only thing you'll end up with is disappointment! It's also worth mentioning that, unlike the previous bans, this one will not give you any Wildcards back for your trouble. Until then, however, the Standard 2022 game mode is simply better off without it. With that in mind, it should come as little surprise to hear that Wizards of the Coast has decided to temporarily ban The Book of Exalted Deeds from the Standard 2022 game mode. The book will still be fully available in the normal Standard mode, and it'll most likely get completely unbanned once the next set arrives as it's bound to bring with it some land-based land destruction like Field of Ruin or Ghost Quarter. And since land destruction in the highly limited Standard 2022 format is basically nonexistent, the combo result in extremely long, tedious and ultimately quite boring games. Given that these four sets (Throne of Eldraine, Theros Beyond Death, Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths and Core Set 2021) represent some of the strongest cards currently available in Standard, the upcoming rotation is promising to seriously shake up the metagame. Once the next set arrives in September, four of the currently oldest Standard sets will rotate out of the format. : MTG Arena is soon adding a bunch of Modern Horizons 1 and 2 cards, alongside 31 brand new ones. : MTG Arena has banned Tibalt's Trickery and Memory Lapse from the Historic format. ![]()
