If it matters, the work computer has 3 monitors. Zoom will attempt to use the microphone, speak- ers, and camera from your remote desktop. (Though I could probably have it paid for by the company if I ask). I'd be ok with spending 100 bucks on my own personal computer, but not so keen on doing it for a computer that isn't mine. But apparently I'd have to download it onto my work computer in order to log into my work desktop from home. I'd have to upgrade to Windows Pro to get it. Locate and right-click on the 'Windows Audio' icon and select Properties In the settings window that opens, you set the Startup Type to Automatic. My understanding is that Windows Remote Desktop does allow mic access. Enable Windows Audio Service Open Control Panel -> System and Security Select 'Administrative Tools' or 'Administration' Start 'Services' on your Windows machine. You can enable the recording from your local PC to the remote computer. Unfortunately, this solution did not work: Before connecting to the remote computer, click on 'Show Options' > Go to 'Local Resources' tab > click 'Settings' in the audio configuration. So I'm looking to switch to something else. I want to talk to the microphone of a local machine on Skype of a remote machine. ![]() I tried contacting support and there appears to be no option to turn on mic access.
